About Me
Hello and welcome! My name is Dr. Linda Lindsay and I am a registered Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and have a Diplomate from the American Board of School Neuropsychology. I am also a registered member of the Ontario College of Teachers. I obtained my BSc, MA and Ph.D from the University of Toronto and my B.Ed. at Western University.
Over the past 25 years, I have worked in both the school board (Toronto District School Board, York Catholic District School Board) and private practice settings providing consultation, assessment and intervention supports to children and adolescents with developmental, learning, attention, executive function, emotional and behavioural challenges.
Prior to becoming a Psychologist, I worked as a teacher in both the school board setting as well as at a remedial reading clinic. These varied work opportunities have contributed to a clinic focus which strives to link student neurodevelopmental profiles to relevant and practical intervention strategies and to help schools and families work together to support child and adolescent learning and social-emotional growth.
When working with families, I see the assessment as a collaborative process and a growth opportunity. Through more fully understanding a child’s strengths and vulnerabilities I am able to match student learning profiles to the appropriate school, home and student focused interventions and help create a roadmap for parents and guide them towards the resources that will help optimize their child’s growth and potential. I also work with children and adolescents to help them more fully understand their unique neurodevelopmental profile and the things that they can do to help support their own growth and development. This process helps to empower students in working towards maximizing their learning potential and educational experiences.
